LOST LINERS ! THE TITANIC - THE BRITANNIC - THE LUSITANIA - THE EMPRESS OF IRELAND - ANDREA DORIA - MORE

PBS LOST LINERS

Book by Dr. Robert D. Ballard : "Bob" is the man who found the Titanic.

The video covers four of the disasters but other ships are included in the book.

I found the full video on YouTube recently and watched it. From 2000, I'm sure there is better technology to locate sunken ship exploration today, but it's still worth watching. There's historical footage - film and photos - as well as testimonials of witnesses and the descendants of passengers.

Because of the infamy of the Titanic disaster, most people don't know there were many other steamships that sunk.

The Lusitania was sunk by a torpedo aimed at it by a German U Boat, another explosion followed which might have been ammunition for the war : the official word was that the war supplies it carried were not ammunition or explosives but the 2nd explosion is not understood to this day.  It was in sight of land yet all happened too suddenly for efficient rescue.

When the Empress of Ireland, a Canadian disaster, sunk, more people lost their lives than had due to the Titanic. This ship had crossed the ocean many times.  Passengers were assured there was.  it all took 14 minutes and many quickly died drowned in the dark in their bunks. Only 357 survived.

So many people who wanted to start over their life who instead ended their lives.  Ships become graves and are corpses themselves.

MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE THROWN OFF THE TITANiC GOES THROUGH FORENSICS - FOUND IT'S WAY TO CANADA

DAILY MAIL : MESSAGE BOTTLE TITANIC WASHED UP IN CANADA  by Jack Wright for MailonLine

Very interesting article.  Apparently there have been other messages in bottle supposed to have been thrown from the Titanic before it sunk but some were hoaxes.  In this article the scientist go about authenticated the paper, the cork, the glass, and verified that the French school girl, Matilde Lefebvre. did exist and did drown. Lots of good photographs in this article!

EXCERPT : The mold and tool marks on the bottle and the chemical composition of the glass are consistent with the technologies used in making this kind of bottle in the early 20th century,' he said

'The cord stopper and a piece of paper stuffed in the bottle's ore yielded radiocarbon dates consistent with the date on the letter - we didn't date the letter itself, since the method is destructive.

'So we haven't caught a prankster red-handed yet, but this still doesn't exclude a recent hoax....

THE GHOST INSIDE MY CHILD : ANCESTRY WORSHIP - GENEALOGY BLOGSPOT FILM REVIEW

THE GHOST INSIDE MY CHILD : ANCESTRY WORSHIP - GENEALOGY BLOGSPOT FILM REVIEW

The title is bad.  Wrong. These are not ghost stories.  These are stories of children who have had spontaneous past life recall.  The editing is overly sensational.  I hate the close ups that reveal every pore.  I hate the glowing red eyeballs.  Really, the editing and production that was inclinded to raise the hair on our heads cheapened this series.  I wasn't scared.  Nor should you be.

Ignore all that.  Reincarnation is natural.  It's human nature.

And it's a message all of us who fear death need to hear.

This series features one interesting story after another, most of which include the parents or some other person doing research to verify that such a person existed.  And no, for you skeptics, the girls don't all remember being Cleopatra and the boys don't all remember being Harry Houdini.  Hey, some of these children are a different race, ethnicity, or gender this time around.

Remembrances in Season One and Two include, the memory of being a fighter pilot shot down during World War II, the memory of being a girl whose family was killed by Indians - later she was traded to a more peaceable tribe, the memory of a girl who died in Hollywood during the Silent Film era at age 14, an actress who probably died after an abortion - so many others!

In many cases, the children go to the place they remember living or dying, or at least a museum - which often helps them let go and get on with this life.

So, despite my recommendation - should anyone producing this series be reading - that you cut the silly boo-hooey - I suggest that watching this is worth your time and if you aren't familiar with reincarnation will be a wonderful introduction.

THE WOMEN WHO WERE WIDOWED WHEN THE TITANIC SANK

DAILY MAIL - ONE WRITER (JULIE COOK) TRACES HER OWN GRANDMOTHERS EXPERIENCE AS WINDOW OF TITANIC VICTIM

Excerpt :  All Emily could do was waite4 her turn to reach the front.  Emily Bessant, then 38, was my great grandmother.

In the grainy black and white photographs I've seen of her, she appears stern-faced: a cold, unemotional woman.

I don't know if she wept that day.  I;m an eternal optimist and, if that runs in my family, I imagine her more likely hoping against hope that William would, indeed, come home.

Sadly, he never did.  OF the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard the Titanic, more than 1,500 died.

The not knowing must have been agonizing.  And a couple of weeks after the tragedy, Emily received a letter stating that William, 40, had been 'lost at sea.'

19 MONTH OLD BABY DROWNED ON TITANIC IDENTIFIED WITH DNA OF SHOE

THE STAR - TINY SHOE ID'S TITANIC BABY  link to full article

"New DNA evidence and a toddler’s shoe kept in a drawer for decades have solved the mystery of the Unknown Child from the Titanic who lies buried in Halifax.

Sidney Leslie Goodwin, 19 months old, drowned when the “unsinkable” ocean liner sank off Newfoundland on April 14, 1912. With him were his mother, father and five older brothers and sisters, all third-class passengers bound for a new life in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

“It was the shoe that tipped it,” genetics researcher Ryan Parr, vice president of Mitomics Inc. in Thunder Bay, told the Star on Wednesday.

Clarence Northover, a Halifax police sergeant in 1912 kept the shoe after helping guard the bodies and clothes of the few recovered Titanic victims. The idea at the time, said Parr, was to burn the clothing to thwart souvenir hunters. But Northover didn't want to burn the tiny shoe, so he put them it in his drawer at the police station...."

70 YEAR OLD TITANIC SURVIVOR HOAX SOLVED WITH DNA

SNET : DNA SOLVES ONE OF THE TITANICS OLDEST MYSTERIES\

"DNA has helped solved a nearly 70-year-old hoax -- one that has haunted a family and its ancestors in the debacle over the identity of a girl who was said to have died on the Titanic. ...

In 1940, 28 years after the Titanic went down, a woman named Helen Kramer appeared on a radio show claiming that she was Loraine Allison. She had an intricate story of being saved by the ship's designer and builder Thomas Andrews, who was also thought to have died on board. Kramer said she was raised in England before going to boarding school in the US.

For more than 50 years, Kramer adamantly lobbied the wealthy Allison family trying to prove that she was kin. But, for the most part, the family was skeptical of Kramer's claims and held her at arm's length."
